What we collect and why

For registration and teaching, we use your email and WhatsApp number, each learner's name, age, country of residence, language information, chosen course, and—where relevant—parent or guardian consent. We use these details to verify the contact email, organize classes, communicate about registration and course delivery, and handle support and cancellations. If you use our contact form, we use the email and message to answer you. Contract and pre-contract processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; legally required records are processed under Article 6(1)(c).

The required registration fields are necessary to arrange and deliver the course; without them we cannot complete a registration. We do not sell personal data or use registration details for unrelated marketing. We do not make decisions about learners through automated profiling.

Payments

Card entry and payment credentials are handled by Stripe, not by Melo Academy. We do not receive or store full card numbers or CVCs. We do retain the order amount, payment plan, payment/refund status, and Stripe transaction references needed to confirm enrollment, manage installments and refunds, and keep required financial records. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy notice.

Service providers and storage

We use Vercel to host the site, Supabase to store registrations and orders, Resend to deliver emails, and Stripe for payments. These providers receive only the data necessary for their service. Where processing takes place outside the European Economic Area, applicable transfer safeguards are used. We retain records while needed to provide the course, resolve issues, and meet legal retention duties; other data is removed when no longer needed.

Cookies and site operation

The site uses essential session and registration-draft cookies so you can stay signed in and continue an unfinished registration. The browser may temporarily hold a submission reference to avoid duplicate registrations. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies in this application. Hosting providers may process technical request logs for security and reliable delivery (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your personal data, and object where processing is based on legitimate interests. Some records must be retained by law. Write to support@meloacademy.com.
